National Day Special: Our National Icon - Vanda Miss Joaquim

(A Guided Tour cum Planting Workshop)


What better way to celebrate National Day than to embark on a tour of the National Orchid Garden with us? Walk through this hidden floral paradise and see if you can spot our National flower – Vanda Miss Joaquim. You will also be introduced to various well-known orchid collections in the Orchid Garden. Following the tour, participants will get the rare opportunity to visit Burkill Hall, a historical British colonial bungalow built in 1866, where they will plant and decorate a pot of Vanda Orchid to commemorate the special occasion.   

 

Suitable for children in K1 – P6 levels

Time                : 10:00am – 11:30am

Fee                  : $30.00 per child  

Location           : Entrance of National Orchid Garden,

                         Central Core of the Singapore Botanic Gardens

 

Additional Information for Parents/Guardians:

Participants are to meet at the Entrance of National Orchid Garden fifteen (15) minutes prior to the commencement of the programme. Guided tour of the Orchid Garden will commence at 10.00am sharp. At the end of the session, participants will be ushered back to the Entrance of the National Orchid Garden to meet with their parents/guardians. Please be informed that parents/guardians will not be able to participate in this workshop. Should parents/guardians wish to enter the National Orchid Garden at your own leisure, admission fee is $1.00 per student above 12 years old/ senior citizen (above 60 years old) and $5.00 for adults.
