“Celebrating Wildlife”- An Investigative Biodiversity Workshop Series:
Come and learn fascinating facts about plants and wildlife that make our gardens, parks and forests their home! This half-day workshop provides children with the opportunity to get up-close-and-personal with both living and preserved specimens, participate in fun-filled, hands-on activities and go on guided walks to seek out wildlife in the Gardens. This “Celebrating Wildlife” Series is jointly organised by Singapore Botanic Gardens and Cicada Tree EcoPlace.
Our Wild Isle - Beautiful Birds
(An Investigative Biodiversity Workshop)
Interested to know more about our feathered friends on this beautiful island? In this workshop, kids will learn about Singapore’s native birds -- what birds eat, where they live, their life cycle and the threats they face daily. Kids will be given a slide-talk of Singapore’s bird species, view feather, nest and egg specimens, and make a kingfisher, owl or drongo wall-hanging which they will bring home with them. The workshop will also include a short walk into the Gardens to spot birds with a telescope as well as a planting hands-on session.
